Minnesota Will Regret Letting Bismarck’s Britta Curl Go!
Bismarck's Britta Curl is Leaving Minnesota ✈
The former standout high school hockey player in Bismarck, collegiate star at Wisconsin, and Olympic Gold Medalist in 2026 for Team USA, is leaving the Minnesota Frost for the new expansion team in Detroit in the PWHL.

According to Pioneer Press, Britta Curl-Salemme signed a three-year standard player agreement with the new PWHL Detroit franchise during the league's Expansion Roster Distribution Process. The Minnesota Frost could've chosen to protect Britta, but chose not to. BIG MISTAKE!
How Britta Curl Plays Hockey
Britta Curl plays the game with an edge, just about all of the best hockey players do, but for some reason, that seems to have rubbed some fans the wrong way in Minnesota. Check out some of these terrible/troll-like comments in the announcement of Curl's departure from the Minnesota Frost.
There has also been some contreversary to Britta's Christian beliefs. She recently addressed those on her social media pages. Here's that video.
What a classy post, from one of North Dakota's best athletes ever.
Let me tell you, there exists an arrogance within the Minnesota hockey community that views North Dakota hockey players as subpar. I'm not saying this is the case with Britta, but I can tell you this from experience as a youth hockey coach in North Dakota and playing countless tournaments in and around the Twin Cities. Even though more often than not, our North Dakota select teams were taking home first-place tournament trophies, many Minnesota hockey fans still viewed us as "irrelevant".
This fresh start could be her launching pad to even bigger and better things in her professional hockey career.
Britta is Coming Back to North Dakota
She will be conducting a hockey camp this month in Bismarck. Plus, her fans will have a chance to meet her at a Bismarck Larks baseball game. Here's the info on that.
Again, we wish Britta Curl all the best in Detroit, we are so proud of your accomplishments, and the person that you have become. I'm pretty sure the Minnesota Frost will regret losing you in the future.
